Cousins Debi and Patti welcomed us to town last night, helped us park our MH in Patti's driveway, and we enjoyed nice chit chat and deciding what tomorrow's plan would be while the kids played with the cats.
We started the day fishing with Dave's help in the morning. We have seen a lot of people fishing on this trip at various campgrounds and Addisyn had been asking to do it, so this was a perfect opportunity! Addisyn caught the first trout, Marissa caught a catfish, and Piper cast the best line but didn't catch any fish.
We saw little rocks in Little Rock (*haha). Right by the "official" little rock by the river, we found a really cool multi-level play area with rocks, ladders, tunnels, and slides. Debi had offered to "rustle up some lunch" for us, but we stumbled upon a delicious place downtown -- I recommend the Flying Saucer -- the kids enjoyed looking at all the plates mounted on the walls and ceilings.
Then it was back to the house for homework in the afternoon. It was nice being comfortable at the big table in the house with elbow room and air conditioning. We bribed the kids to work with getting to go to local waterpark/pool before they closed. It was half price at the end of the day, so we got there with an hour and a half to play until 6pm. Chris and Jacob had a cannonball contest. Marissa got stuck on the slide again (but at least she knew what to do). Then we went out to eat.
The kids bonded with the kitties at Patti's as much as possible anytime we were there and were so cute parting with them. Patti and Greg, and Debi were great hosts and made us feel very welcome.
