**SAT 5/25 MEGA DRIVE DAY 487 miles to Jackson, MS and New Orleans
Left ~7:30am, got gas, hooked up and on hwy around 8am.
Kids were all still in bed when we put the slide in, but A&P wanted to say bye to the kitties so they got up... Marissa didn't wake until after we were on the hwy.
We stopped on the side of the road for a stretch break at state border. We entered Louisiana, dipped into Mississippi, and back to Louisiana again.
Jackson Mississippi Capitol has 49 steps in front, 35 in the rear, and a gorgeous sounding duplicate of the liberty bell the kids enjoyed ringing... downtown was so empty hardly any cars, we almost had the place to ourselves.
We drove on the longest bridge we've ever been on-- it was 35 miles long! It went over a swamp and a lake on our way into New Orleans.
We have been on the road for 4 weeks already! Our pace has been quick. In and out, rarely staying in one place for long. We are frequently on to the next thing before we have a chance to let the last thing sink in to our memory banks.
