We left my sister's today. Poor Chris is not with us, away at school and doing homework all week 6am to midnight every day. I drove through the tunnel and dumped the sewer and all that fun stuff all by myself. Addisyn was my navigator and my girls spotted me backing into our site. Glad they are old enough to be able to help with that.
We booked the campground here with intention to visit Colonial Williamsburg, which was on the "things-to-do-on-the-trip" list right along, but we have done so much go-go-go and so much history, we decided to make today a play day instead. We enjoyed the small campground and made good use of the pool and playground today, getting to bed at a decent hour, so we will be revitalized for our drive and long days in DC.
The pool is small, but big enough for Marissa to realize she doesn't need her floaty in the deep end.
Tonight we girls started reading "Anne of Green Gables" in prep for our drive north to Prince Edward Island. The chapters are long, as we are reading the full version and Anne can sure talk!
I let the kids sleep wherever they wanted tonight. Marissa finally got to sleep at the dinette. Addisyn tried the pull out couch, but we didn't pack the air mattress pump (which would have been a pita anyway), so she put her mattress on the couch which was way too long, but it was fun to try. I think we'll opt to just put her bunk down instead next time--it'd be simpler.
