| Addisyn's flat self made it back home! |
picture of themselves, cut it out, sent their “flat self” on an adventure, and reported back to their class afterwards.
This took some planning, as they read the book in early April, sent their flat selves out before Spring Break, then got their flat self home by the end of the month, so they could do presentations throughout May and display their boards at the school open house.
I helped her mount pictures and captions on a presentation board and she practiced telling about it to her dad, Marissa, and her grandmas, before her official presentation at school. Addisyn invited me and Grammy to watch her present at school, and we were so impressed with how comfortable she was standing and speaking in front of her class! Mrs. Lindgren had them trained with a formal greeting, and Addisyn remembered 90% of what she was supposed to talk about (which is impressive considering she had to wait so long before it was her turn to present, and she had a LOT to remember to talk about).

I sure like what I saw of how Mrs Lindgren teaches. To bad she is retiring. It would have been nice for Piper to have such a great teacher too.
Addisyn looked like a pro giving the presentation. Kudos to A. Marcy for taking flat addisyn on such a diverse tour of Virginia Beach too.
Yay! I was wondering how it turned out. She looked like she knew what she was doing in front of the map!
