Silver Strand Beach Camping

We spent the last 5 days beach camping at Silver Strand in Coronado. I don't think we ever spent that much time camping in the RV before. It was nice to not have to pack up after just 2 nights. Addisyn was worn out after being outdoors so much and not napping as well as at home.

Addisyn had a great time playing in the sand with her buckets and toys, but didn't touch the water much--it was chilly! We went for a couple bike rides and let the girls play at the park. Addisyn went down the tall twisty slide and Piper did tummy time on a blanket in the grass. Chris towed Addisyn in one trailer and I towed Piper in the other.

On July 4th, we rode into town for the parade. It was a LONG parade and we didn't even see the end of it. Addisyn enjoyed the music, horses, and doggies; she would even say "see" when she wanted us to pick her up for a better look, but after an hour and a half, she was more content just sitting in the bike trailer reading her book. We posed Piper with Addisyn for a picture in their matching outfits before leaving.

That night we were able to see at least four different fireworks displays from the campground so it was nice not to deal with driving or parking. Piper slept through the fireworks in the stroller while Addisyn pointed them out saying "oooo." She enjoyed them, but didn't finish watching fireworks either; after 15 minutes she was DONE and ready for bed!

Piper got to nap out on the beach (covered of course!) several of the days and Addisyn got to sleep in her tent in the trailer. The thing is, is that Addisyn likes to hang out and sit before falling asleep, so we'd hear her move around in the tent and play with the zipper. She was reminded more than once to leave the zipper alone. One afternoon during naptime, Chris and I sat outside relaxing and heard a "thump" sound... we couldn't determine if it came from inside or outside the trailer, but then it was quiet so we relaxed again. Moments later we heard th-thump-thump-thump-thump-ump---the sound of Addisyn's feet running the length of the trailer! She had unzipped herself out of the tent, jumped off the bed, and RAN with the biggest little grin on her face! We had a good laugh over it and had to put her back to bed.

The weather in Coronado was beautiful the whole week. I was actually cold due to the ocean breeze, but a welcome one from the heat of El Cajon.

Overall we were happy to be able to celebrate summer and Independence day with family and friends.
