Epic RV Trip -- Colorado

**SUN 7/28  DRIVE --> Denver, CO
The kids started their "tests" to find out how many tokens they get for Sam's Town on Friday.  They are earning tokens for the arcade by how much they know about the states.  Of course we have to scale the point system to be fair-- Addisyn has to know label all the states (with correct spelling), PO codes, capitals, and for at least half of them an interesting fact.  Canadian provinces and extra facts are bonus.  Piper has to do the same except fewer capitals.  Marissa has to identify each state on the map and tell me some facts or landmarks. 

We stopped by Cheyenne, WY to see the capitol.  They have an interesting flag with a bison on the flag.  The state mammal is a bison.

We drove through Denver, as we are planning to be downtown tomorrow.

Our state campground is nice; I'd come back if we lived near here.  The kids enjoyed the playground, bike riding, and painting our concrete pad with hands and feet prints they painted with water and colorful chalk.

Chris ran to Home Depot so he can fix a few things (I'm not saying what this time).

**MON 7/29  Denver Capitol & Mint
Well, another thing we planned our campground stay on and had to skip.  For months, we've been talking about doing a Mint tour to see how our money is made.  Their system is for people to line up in the morning for the day's tours.  Tours are free, but people tend to line up at 5am and today was no exception.  Chris got up early so we wouldn't all have to, but it took 45 minutes to drive on a Monday morning into downtown, and by the time Chris got there when they opened at 7am, the line was already longer than the number of tickets available so he was too late.  I guess it wasn't meant to be and we have something left on our bucket list for another time.

We got to have a calm day to work on the motorhome, take naps, listen to the rain, and catch up on blogging.

We could enjoy being spontaneous and not glued to a schedule today.  We finally drove into Denver for dinner and to see the capitol.  I noticed gun safety and classes billboards both here and in WY.  And lots of CBD/marijuana signs and shops in CO.  We ate at Sweet Tomatoes (Souplantation).
