Snow!

Snow! This is NOT a sight normally seen in San Diego! Even Alpine had snow. We bundled the girls up in boots, hats, mittens, jackets, and 2 layers of pants, and drove towards the mountains. Addisyn had been reading about snow in her Christmas books and learning about it in preschool, so this was pretty exciting (even if she didn't want to play in it b/c she got too cold).

First we stopped to see Aunt Katherine in Alpine and ate snow off the cars and patio furniture. The snow here was thin and icy. Poor pregnant Katherine was fighting a cold and bundling up in the new house which still doesn't have central heat yet. Hope she feels better soon!

Then we drove east and found Pine Valley park. The snow here was about a foot deep and nice and fluffy. What does snow taste like? "Cold." It was sooooo much fun and all the girls made snow angels. I should have been wearing gloves--my fingers could handle a snowball, but not packing a snowman. Piper checked out the playground and Addisyn clung to mommy after both layers of her pants were soaked through with wet & cold.

Can you guess who fell asleep in their carseats on the way home?
