Flag Day Parade

We went to the La Mesa Flag Day Parade today.

We started at the pre-parade entertainment which included Cousin Katelyn in the LMMS band. Then we took Addisyn to the staging area--Grammy Susan organized the "human flag" and Addisyn got a free ride in the parade with them. Aunt Katherine & Uncle Mike and Grandpa Dave were in it. Cousin Justin and Grandma Joyce waved flags with them too.

Piper and I watched from the sidelines with Aunt Stacy. (Actually Piper slept for the 1st half hour until some fire trucks in the parade with honking horns went by.) Katelyn chose to sit with Chris and Marc at the announcer's booth. They had the privilege of announcing the parade entries and then did their radio show live from La Mesa Blvd at noon.

It could have been a bit warmer and it drizzled on us, but it was a nice day nevertheless. Addisyn and Piper both fell asleep in the car on the way home, so it must have been a good day!

Everyone looks so festive! Sounds like everyone had a good time and hopefully next time I can be there too ;)
