Caption: Addisyn visits daddy after his surgery.Chris had surgery on the right side of his hip yesterday. He had FAI (Femoral Asatabular Impingement) and they call the procedure Hip Arthrotomy Debridiment, which basically means they shaved off bone overgrowth and bone spurs in his hip joint which were restricting his flexibility and could have caused arthritis and a hip replacement down the road if not taken care of. (Bone hitting bone causes arthritis.) His surgeon, Dr. Hanson, was wonderful and said everything went well. Chris stayed overnight in the hospital just as a precaution to make sure everything was okay and to make sure the pain was managed. He has a 3" vertical incision in front of his right hip to heal now.
Addisyn visited a few times which brought a smile to his face. It was otherwise quite boring at the hospital. Chris got tired of sitting in bed and said his butt hurt from sitting so much. He did take a few outings to the hallway with his crutches (Sorry Gallo, not using a walker!) . His excitement came from getting up and down wearing a skirt (hospital gown) without flashing anyone, and he looked lovely in his knee-highs ("Ted hose"/compression stockings for circulation/blood clot prevention).
Chris came home today and is resting, in fact he's sleeping right now--he couldn't sleep much at the hospital due to the wailing of some old lady down the hall. Thank you grandparents for watching Addisyn so I could take care of her daddy.

We are so glad to learn that Chris' surgery went well. I remember him telling us about it, but couldn't remember the date. Your Blog keeps us up to date on the Rand Family. Get well wishes to Chris and we are looking forward to seeing you and him at the block party.
