Since we went to a rollerskating party the day before, this year's Mother's Day philosophical pondering is an analogy:Being a mother is like being on roller skates.... It takes patience to get the hang of it, it's more fun when you keep moving, there's a good chance you'll fall on your butt but you'll get on your feet again and the pain will be temporary, there's always new tricks to learn, and darn if your kids aren't just the cutest things wearing skates!
Mother's Day itself was a nice day. Addisyn and Piper sang at church with the children's choir, and Addisyn did a great job reading her verse solo in the microphone. We visited Great Grandma Ann between church services (girls sang twice). Then we went to Paradise Point, a traditional spot for the Rands, and the kids had fun playing, riding bikes, and climbing trees. Susan got her mother's day wish of a picture of her with all five grandkids.
