Cousins Quality Time

The same weekend that Chris was camping/Jeeping, my mom had offered to babysit our cousin's children.  Kristen and Pete drove down from Fresno on a Thursday and then left for "Cochella" (an adult weekend-long concert event) on Friday, returning Monday.  The three kids, Pete, Olivia, and Kooper, stayed at my mom's house, but we hung out with them daily and enjoyed seeing the cousins (2nd/3rd cousins, 1/2 removed) play together.

Pete (Jr.) (9) and Addisyn (8) are within a year of each other in age. Olivia (7) and Piper (7) and just a month apart in age.  Kooper (2.5) and Marissa (3) were a comedy team.

Entertaining was a good excuse to keep active this weekend.  We spent a lot of time outdoors.  (And as a result, there was NO problem getting the cousins to fall asleep away from home. ;-) )

The older kids started at the rock wall.  Olivia tells me at 10' high, that she's afraid of heights--I was impressed that she knew that and gave it a shot anyway.  Pete and Addisyn were able to touch the top.  Our play yard was extra fun with company too.

On Saturday, we went to a Family Soccer festival for Piper's soccer club--the highlight was facepainting.

This might be the only picture I have where you can see all 6 faces (kinda).

Grandma Joyce and Papa Dave's yard was pretty fun too.  All six kids cooperated taking turns on the zipline.

Watching the kids eat dinner together brought back memories of dinners at the "kids' table" with my cousins at Great Grandma Sabia's house.  (Except I didn't see anyone slip chicken guts in anyone else's milk!)

On our last day, we loaded 8 bikes, 3 scooters, and the bike trailer in the truck bed and headed over to Santee Lakes.  Then when Stacy and her kids arrived, we had 11 of us--quite a crowd!  Apparently Olivia had just learned to ride w/o training wheels the week prior, but she did great--even rode down the grass hill--you go girl!  I think Pete enjoyed adventuring with Justin on the bikes.  Kooper and Marissa kept each other happy in the bike trailer and enjoyed stretching their legs on our playground breaks.

Fun kids!
Lots of memories made this weekend.
We NEED to do this AGAIN!

Thanks for all your help that weekend. It made it FUN for all of us. It is going to be hard to keep Marissa in a trailer anymore, now she can ride her pedal bike (sans training wheels).

We are so happy you share activities and your kids with us.
