At swim practice the day before Easter, I helped fill and hide eggs for the girls to find (filled with water and a penny for weight), and then used the underwater camera to get these fun pictures. Piper is in the blue shirt at the bottom of the pool in the top picture, and Addisyn is at the surface in the orange bathing suit and pink goggles in the second pictures. All the girls thought the underwater egg hunt was a fun and unique activity.
Then on Easter morning the girls were excited to see what the Easter Bunny put in their baskets. They found new towels, bathing suits, and goggles along with eggs filled with hair ties, jelly beans, love notes, and MONEY!
Between the baskets and the hidden eggs in the play yard, I think the Easter Bunny left about $14 in spare change among all the eggs. The girls had lots of spare change to count and trade for bills that they took to the store the following week to buy themselves a toy.
The girls worked together hunting for eggs and found some in unusual places. Although we thought they had found them all, we discovered an egg in a bush 3 weeks later--with 26 cents in it.
They enjoyed eating jelly beans for breakfast and reading their love notes while sorting their loot. There were strips of paper in many eggs with notes like "You are beautiful", "You are strong", and "Somebunny loves you."
After church we headed for Grammy and Grampy's house for lunch. We thought Piper was in a jellybean coma when she fell asleep on the couch (and continued a nap in bed while missing a meal), but we later discovered her top left front tooth and finally peaked through her gums--so that was more likely the culprit. (We didn't let them eat that much candy that morning.) Aunt Stacy took advantage of getting some cuddles from a normally very active girl.
We were happy to enjoy the company of Aunt Evelyn too.
During Spring Break we also went camping at KQ and the girls enjoyed "Bon Appetite" camp at Hillside rec center where they learned about cooking, food groups, and healthy living, and loved the dessert buffet on the last day!
The spring time weather has been alternating back and forth between warm sunny and wet cold, so we enjoyed the sun while we had it.
