Happy Easter

We've been talking about and preparing for the Easter bunny all week. Addisyn decorated plastic eggs with stickers. Both girls wore dresses and participated in various egg hunts on three consecutive days.

Addisyn knew just what to do: find, shake, open, eat. If it's empty, throw it back. Find some in sister's basket and eat those too. (We had the Easter day hunt AFTER lunch so she wouldn't spoil her meal.)

Piper knew just what to do too: find, put in basket, take out and show mommy, put it back, find another, let a couple eggs fall out of basket, re-find eggs that fell out, imitate big sister by sitting down and dumping everything out of the basket.

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday with family at church and for lunch at Susan & Bernie's house. There was an earthquake that shook everyone up--but more just emotionally, as we noticed no physical damage. [It lasted a long time (10+ sec) and was a 7.2 based in Mexico.] Addisyn thought the house was shaking because it was "windy" (she knows that trees shake in the wind) so she wasn't scared at all. Chris took Addisyn to a doorway for safety, and frankly I wasn't sure what to do, but I was holding Piper, so I held her close with my hand over her head, just in case.

Since the kids went to nursery during church, I was able to pay attention and get something from it. My church lessons today:
God doesn't let bad things end anything -- it was sad that he died, but he rose -- in our own lives, we shouldn't let evil be our culprit, we should outdo evil with goodness.
Jesus asked his disciples to spread the word of his goodness -- he had no other "back-up plan" -- he is trusting us to do and teach his goodness through our relationships with others.

Happy Easter. He is Risen!

Matthew 28:2 ESV
And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.

What a wonderful way to start my day; this first day back to work after Easter! No fair Suerand is getting "help" seeing it first!
