15 months and 31 months

I enjoyed taking the girls to the park. They dug and climbed and slid. Piper yet again went fearlessly down the twisty slide without a second thought or waiting for mommy right behind her. They drove the pretend fire truck and when Addisyn decided to pretend sleep, Piper took charge! (See picture of Piper's foot on Addisyn's butt!)

(Yes, I like dressing them alike--it makes it easier for me to spot them and if they do get separated, it is easy for others to know that they actually do belong together.)



Here's a bit of what each girl has been up to as far as her skills--

Addisyn: (31 months)

• Recognizes her printed name (can you say WOW!?)
• Likes opening, closing, and holding doors for people
• "helping"
• Understands the "new pacifier rules" (not for playing in bed or pretend sleeping)
• Says "no pushing, Piper" when Piper thinks Addisyn is in her way
• Been VERY good about brushing teeth--she knows the reward is to "watch a show" the next day
• Wakes up and says "watch a show now" and when I say no, after nap, she says "yes...after dinner" (meaning breakfast--hehehe)
• I'm bummed that she hasn't pooped in the potty (with a 1 day exception) in over a month (waits for the nap/bedtime diaper)--I suppose we can change that when she starts waking up dry.

Piper: (15 months)

• "Hi da(d)"
• "A-da" (all done)
• "ma" (mom)
• Signs please, all done
• Waves hi/bye
• Blows and gives kisses, was even loud enough for Grandma Grace to hear the "mu-wah"
• Dances (turn in circles and hold arms up bopping them and inch or two up and down)
• Loves climbing, playing in water, and DIRT
• Likes the sandbox and doesn't just try to eat the sand anymore
• Still throws things down and says "uh oh" when it was clearly intentional
• Throws things down when upset (frequently her milk sippy, being dramatic and trying to make a statement or something)

We also tried our first non-family babysitter experience last night. It felt weird, but we got a wonderful report back...the girls didn't cry at all! It is good that Addisyn and Piper are learning to be comfortable with different people...especially since Addisyn is so shy around new people. Our neighbors (who happen to be nannies) came over at dinner time and put the girls to bed while we went out for a couple hours. Deja and Pam, you are great girls--thank you!
