Addisyn's 2nd Birthday

Addisyn had lots of celebrating this weekend for her 2nd birthday. She has doubled her lifespan since her last birthday and that's worthy of lots of parties isn't it?

She opened cards on Thursday night and played peek-a-boo with the 2 dollar bills from Aunt Judy and Uncle Homie.

Then on Friday (her real birthday) we did dinner and cake with family. I was a proud mommy when she gave everyone hugs and kisses as thank you's for each gift. She was SOOO GOOD!!! Addisyn also impressed everyone with her letters, naming aloud all the ones she knows [A, B, C, D, E, F, I, M, N, O, S, T]. Addisyn and Piper were dressed as twinsies in patriotic shirts for 9/11.

On Saturday she had her kid friends party in our backyard. Since she loves them so much, it was a butterfly theme so I made cupcakes displayed in the shape of a butterfly. We love that Addisyn still calls butterflies "kai-a-kais." Addisyn stood on her step stool in the kitchen and helped me fill snack bowls for the tables. (Luckily she didn't fall off heels-over-head like she did just an hour earlier that morning.) Then we enjoyed a few beautiful sunny hours in the backyard BBQing, swinging, and blowing bubbles. It was a perfectly sized party for visiting and not too much craziness. Susan helped us and everything went great.

Addisyn spent her last half-hour before bedtime playing with her new toy kitchen. Her baby doll took this picture (with my help) after we removed her from the oven. (okay, okay, baby was only in the oven because mommy and daddy thought it'd be funny to suggest she put it there in the first place!)

Happy Birthday Addisyn! Mommy and Daddy are proud of you and we love you forever!
