Love our 3rd week of winter vacation

Our school district gives us three weeks for winter vacation, and boy do we love it!  We get a week for Christmas, a week for camping, and a week for play.  We go back to school Tuesday 1/14 this year.

We fixed up our bikes, and enjoyed a family ride at Lake Murray 1/11 (pictures lost).

We got our motorhome back from warranty work (fingers crossed).

Our local Rancho San Diego/McGrath YMCA gymnastics center has been remodeling with more equipment and held an open house to promote it and celebrate.  Now Piper wants to join the gymnastics team here... I told her she has to finish her swim season but can start in summer.

We played at home, enjoying our gifts.

Addisyn and Alli built a hamster cage.  I am so proud of them.  They researched larger cage environments on YouTube, Addisyn counted her money, I took them both shopping to buy materials, and they built it together.  They found a tall display case at IKEA that they could lay down and swap out the hinged door for a DIY lid.  They measured, sawed, sanded, drilled, painted, cut, and staple gunned.  Karen helped them use power tools and do things that needed a bit more muscle, but worked under their design and direction.  Don't those hamsters look happy?

More Piper posing, with leftover birthday balloons.
