We treated ourselves to a play at The Globe in Balboa Park to see The Grinch this year. Chris' coworker's daughter played Cindy Lou Who. The actor playing the Grinch character did an amazing job with the larger than life facial expressions and gestures with long green fingers.
We got our Christmas tree on Friday 12/6... we were going to go on Sunday when we had more time, but rain was in the forecast, so we squeezed picking it in the only half-hour we had on Friday afternoon that we could all five be together.
Me and my sisters enjoyed a good excuse to spend all day together, making cookies. My daughters joined us in the afternoon to help decorate, and I had fun learning how to control the icing with zippy bags for piping.
We hosted Christmas Eve at our house with a baked potato bar (seriously the easiest pre-prep buffet ever!) and gifts with family. Marissa and Annabelle enjoyed stuffing the wrapping paper down in the recycle box behind the couch.
The kids played in the suitcase Uncle Mike got for a gift. For his role in the Sheriff department, Mike gets to travel to Quantico, VA to take a three month program in the FBI academy, early next year.
