Marissa 6th bday Money Theme

Marissa requested waffles for her birthday breakfast.  She woke up bright and cheery and dressed up for her birthday.  She had been waiting and waiting to wear that party tutu!

Our family tradition at age 6 is a bank account and booster seat.  Marissa took all the money she had been earning saving, sat tall in a new booster seat to USECU, and we opened her child account.

In honor of her bank account, we had fun with the money theme for her party this year.  On her actual birthday Tuesday we gave her a toy cash register (calculator) with play money.  Then at her party on Friday, the girls used the register so friends could "buy" party favors with the play money they earned from the pinata.

She REALLY wanted a pinata.  We filled it with play money, coins and paper, so tons of money flew out when it burst and all the kids clamored for money to fill their wallets we gave out as party favors to hold their money.

Even the cake was custom decorated to look like money.

We invited families with Marissa's friends, so both kids and adults had a good time.  We had families of Claire Adams, Jewel (from soccer), Daniel Torres, Trea Wieler, Christophersons, Grondonas, neighbors Malin McGuidwin, cousins Jacob & Megan, aunts & uncles, and grandparents.
