We had our traditional Back to School party the week prior. They got new folders, lunch boxes, and miscellaneous supplies including paper and pens and pencils.
Marissa is counting down the days till the first day.
We took Marissa to Kindergarten orientation Tuesday morning, the day before the first day. She got to see the classroom and meet her teacher Mrs. Plute. Seeing a few familiar faces from church, preschool, and just being a Fuerte sibling helped her feel comfortable.
The FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL this year is Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
We started with a 7:30am photo shoot to document the first day, then the 5 of us walked to Fuerte together. We checked Piper's class list and walked Marissa to her room.
We usually go check class lists in the afternoon the day before the first day, but Piper was cool waiting till morning this time. She has several buddies in her class with Mrs. Pribyl.
I drove Addisyn to school, parking around the block and walking her to the front. She has been very amped up and nervous about starting middle school for months. She got to Hillsdale 20 min before school starts, not knowing her schedule or where to go get it (there were signs showing them where to go based on grade and last name).
After school, I am so happy to hear everything went well. Addisyn and Sophia walked a few blocks together to Michael's store for after school pick up. Addisyn's schedule is homeroom with Mrs. Torretto, and she is in honors English and math.
