Piano Lessons

I think music is a really important part of quality of life and brain development.  We tried piano a couple years ago for one month, but they were young and just weren't into it.  Then they got weekly music instruction through the children's choir at church for a year.  With synchronized swimming, I thought they'd be able to count the beats better (but staying on top of the water was probably more important).

Now, we are trying piano again.  This time we have 2 great advantages: their teacher is my Great Aunt Didi, and she comes to our house so it is SO much easier to schedule for us.

Our first lesson was on Nov. 24.  (We appreciate that Didi was willing to come out to us even on her birthday.)  They each got a paper keyboard to help learn symbols and notes, and they played "blind lady" to feel for middle C with their eyes closed.

Addisyn and Piper each get 30 min every Tuesday.

One month UPDATE:  Piper is really enjoying her lessons.  Addisyn is not so into it, so she is opting to continue music by doing bells at church weekly with Mrs. Cree.

Aunt Didi teaches holistically--developing their finger muscles, reading music, chords, sound appreciation, creative composing, and more.  She makes little games and plays mini duets with them to make it fun.
