Piper finished a year of preschool

Piper was busy at preschool this year!

We placed Piper with the "younger three's" this year for preschool even though she already had a half year under her belt; we wanted her to feel successful and like a role model to other kids, since she is always struggling to do everything Addisyn does at home.  She spent the year with Ms. Vicci, who Addisyn also had at age three.  Piper is doing more that Addisyn did in that class, understandably since she has a big sister, has had more time in preschool, and is a bit older than Addisyn was at the time. 

Piper went to school Mon-Tue-Wed, 3 days per week.  She always came home with multiple pieces of artwork, "treasures" from the playground, and in the fall and winter, acorns collected from outside.

Piper is a well behaved student.  Ms. Vicci said she would miss her "little assistant" because Piper helps tell her classmates when they are making good or bad choices.

Piper can now write her whole name and draw faces with details.  She had a lovely self-portrait that even had eyelashes on it.

Piper says her favorite thing this year was making ice cream (a paper, paint, and sprinkles art on the last day---she seems to have short term memory recently).  Then recalling all the art we spread out on the living room floor for our annual picture, she added a couple more favorite things--the "owl, and instrument" (instrument was a paper plate/lentils tamborine).

I think the coolest things were the live tadpoles/frogs and caterpillars/butterflies in her classroom.

One-two days a week, Piper would do "Stay & Play" for an hour or so, eating lunch with her friends and playing on the playground.  This girl plays hard....and crashes hard.  All that fun time wears her out, and being over napping, she sure is a roller coaster of energy and emotion. (I should clarify, she saves the "lows" for mommy, which just means she is an angel at school, and feels safe enough to be herself with her family--a good thing.)

On her last day yesterday, Piper delivered her and my "love notes" for Ms. Vicci.  Then they had a pizza party with the other three year old classes.   At the end of the year Ms. Vicci gave each child a custom memory book with work samples from each month, and Piper enjoyed sitting on the couch at home reminiscing.

She is hoping to be in Ms. Colombina's or Ms. Betsy's class next year and go to the Peter Piper Pizza field trip on the last day.
