Desert and Piper's stitches

Chris is happy that his family loves the desert as much as he does.  The girls love the dirt, and giggle and smile on buggy rides.  "Go faster daddy," they say! 

Addisyn and Piper are graduated to kid seats without their carseats in them for the buggy, which was questionable with towels under their bums and fabricated chest clips, but good enough to keep them safe.  We went during the week before the New Year's crowds came in.  The girls love to take the buggy to the top of the hill and get out to play in the soft sand where they play with shovels, make sand angels, and climb. 

They also like to play in the buggy and help daddy work on it. 

At least Piper's accident wasn't in the buggy.  Piper fell in the trailer and split her lip open.  There was lots of blood.  I hope the scar heals well since it is on her face.  Our friend Shannon did a fabulous job putting steri-strips on it to hold it together so we could get to a doctor--Thank you Shannon for stepping up and for doing such a great job!  Piper was such a good sport about the whole thing; she never cried after the initial shock.  She toughed it out through the car ride, the waiting room, the missed nap, the wound cleaning, the numbing medicine, the mummy wrap, and even the stitches.  She made the best of her situation and for that, we are proud parents!

After our afternoon at the Yuma ER, we were back to normal, playing at camp, and probably fighting a losing battle to keep the stitches clean and dry. Well, the weather couldn't have been nicer!
