We love the USA

Happy Birthday America!
We celebrated by camping at Silver Strand beach for the 3rd year in a row.  We rode bicycles (girls shared a bike trailer) to the parade on Orange Ave and the girls got many compliments on their cute outfits.  Piper sat curbside with friends and was captivated by the parade, while Addisyn stayed back with me but ventured up to watch the interesting parts.

The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed it biking, triking, playing volleyball (Karen), playing in/on the sand, running in the waves, and swimming in the "beach with no waves" (the bay).  Piper temporarily regressed on "no pee-pee in the panties"-training with all the excitement, but is getting back on track again.  I was impressed with all the exercise the girls got peddling those tiny tricycles; they rode all the way from our campsite to the bay and back again--they liked the tunnel, but both needed assistance on the uphills.  Addisyn became attached to her baby doll even more, wearing it on her back in Piper's purple backpack.  We make-shifted a holder for Piper to wear her baby on her back with green bungee cords (pictured).

We ate red, white, and blue deserts every day, and my favorite was berries in cool whip.  We also introduced Addisyn and Piper to roasting marshmallows and they loved it so much they had to do it every night!  We had festive red, white, and blue star marshmallows and big grins for the weekend.

Addisyn had another FIRST on July 3, 2011 -- her FIRST HAIRCUT!
Thank you Jessica for being willing to do this on your vacation; being 8 months pregnant, at least you got to sit and be comfy while cutting hair.  She trimmed 2-3 inches and it looks very nice.  Addisyn's motivation was having fewer tangles, and it worked!
