We hosted a Gingerbread themed birthday party this year. It all started when Marissa saw the gingerbread house kits at Costco so we discussed putting a candle on that instead of a cake. She got to build and decorate it before the party. She also decorated a pan of brownies--to look like a house with lots of the leftover candy--to eat at the party since the gingerbread house would be hard to serve. We converted an Amazon shipping box into a gingerbread house decoration and let the kids reach in for a peppermint candy treat. She invited her sisters, cousins, and a couple preschool friends Hope, Kami, and Maeve.
