The great room sharing experiment

I hope the girls don't wake each other up, but I got tired of hearing Addisyn close her door and tell Piper to stay out, so we've been talking up sharing a room for a while now, and this weekend after a sleepover at Grands, the girls came home on Saturday to a new sleeping room and play room.

They were excited about the new setup, so nap time was out-of-whack. We had to lay Piper down about 5 times for the first nap and it didn't help that Addisyn was tired and wanted to nap, but ended up standing and playing with/talking to Piper instead.

Addisyn pretty much stopped napping two months ago, but will occasionally sleep (like she did yesterday on the living room couch-in a half seated position with her shoes on!). So I figure nap time won't be a problem in general.

Nights and mornings are going well so far. Addisyn has gotten up quietly and when we hear her talking to herself/reading, then we invite her to the purple couch in the playroom, quietly--so we don't wake up Piper, until "the sun is up over the mountain". Addisyn will walk up to me and say "Can I wake up now?" Cute.

Their cribs don't match, but we did get a new dresser for Piper.

In the sleeping picture of Addisyn, you can see her latest craft project--sewing a new pillow case. I took the girls to JoAnne's and they (Addisyn) got to pick out fabric for new pillow cases. At home, mommy pinned and cut, then Addisyn sat on my lap while I used the sewing machine. She got to take pins out, move the lever for the foot up and down, and say "watch out your fingers mommy." She has a couple pillow cases now, which is good, b/c when the Dora pillow case got "tired", she could switch it with another.

Gee, now you don't need to remodel. They can share a room, and you have one left over. (*smile*)
